I have a question. When there are thousands of non-disabled dogs that are put to sleep each day because there are not enough homes for them, why does it seem that people and the media go out of their way to promote and adopt disabled dogs? Is it some sort of disability appealing to our senses? I have no answers to these questions. I also find it interesting that dog rescues will go out of their way to beg for donations for an expensive surgery for a dog in need, yet say they don't have the funds to foster several non-disabled dogs for a month.
