Dogs as therapy helpers

I am sure you have heard of using animals as aids to those with physical and mental problems. Most of the time dogs are used in a hospital setting to visit with patients and visitors. Other dogs are used as service dogs for the disabled. In the latter work that the dogs perform, they are owned or live with the person they help. The dogs that are not owned by the people they help are called therapy dogs. They assist people in overcoming or dealing with a handicap.

There is one place that is rather interesting and please take my invitation and go and visit Hearts in Harmony at heartsinharmonytx.org they are a program that helps at risk children in east Texas.
